Update: Golf remains closed for Easter long-weekend

On behalf of the Board and Executive, I wanted to provide a further update on Club operations, and to reassure our Members and Staff that we are closely monitoring the Coronavirus situation and possible impacts on our community.

Our team has been meeting regularly to review our position as new information and advice comes to hand.

While we recognise that the Office of Sport – NSW Government has approved the playing of golf during this period, we have decided to keep our Golf Course, Bowling Greens and Croquet Lawns closed over the Easter long-weekend and until further notice.

With our Pro Shop and Courses unstaffed, we cannot guarantee Member safety in our unsupervised environment. Additionally, we do not wish to encourage non-essential visitors to the region at this time by promoting an open golf course.

Therefore, in the best interests of members and the wider community, we will continue to remain closed until further information comes to light.

As you are all too aware, we implore our Members to remain at home unless it is absolutely necessary. Working through this short term frustration together will have us back enjoying our beautiful fairways in the shortest possible time.

On behalf of the entire YMGCR team, have safe and happy Easter and we hope to welcome you back soon.

Gil Cunningham
President, YMGCR
