Last weekend, August 30 and 31, our club proudly hosted the annual Joy Johnson Memorial Classic, a cherished event that continues to honour the memory of a much-loved member of the bowls community.

This annual bowls event is one of the most special on our calendar, bringing members and visitors together to not only enjoy the game but also to celebrate the life and legacy of Joy Johnson. Joy was a much-loved member of our bowls community, remembered for her passion for the sport, her warm spirit, and her dedication to the club.

The tournament drew a fantastic field of bowlers, with matches played in great spirit and plenty of laughter shared over the two days. It was wonderful to see both seasoned players and newer faces coming together, united by a shared love of bowls and the memory of Joy.

Congratulations to the winners and well done to all who took part — the standard of play was excellent, and the atmosphere on the day was something truly special. We look forward to welcoming everyone back next year.
