Hahn Super Dry Mixed Pairs Delivers Two Days of Great Competition at YMGCR

The Hahn Super Dry Mixed Pairs Bowls Tournament has been run and won at the Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort (YMGCR) after two fantastic days of competition on March 11 and 12.

A strong field of 28 teams took to the greens, competing across five games over two days in the popular 2x2x2x2 (2 & walk) format, with players battling it out for a $4,100 prize pool. With teams travelling from across Victoria and New South Wales, the event once again showcased the depth of talent and passion for bowls across the region.

Local teams from Yarrawonga, Club Mulwala and YMGCR were joined by visiting bowlers from Corowa, Bendigo, Ballarat, Queanbeyan, Colac, Shepparton, Myrtleford, Tungamah, Wodonga, Leopold and Mentone, creating a competitive and friendly atmosphere across the two days.

Spectators were treated to some excellent bowls, with experienced campaigners, regional representatives and emerging players all taking part in the tournament.

Last year’s champion Michael Szarbo (YMGCR) returned to defend his title, teaming up with Roz King from Yarrawonga Bowls Club, as the strong field battled it out across the five rounds.

The event was played in excellent conditions, with the YMGCR bowling greens drawing plenty of praise from competitors throughout the tournament.

Special thanks go to greenkeeper Rohan, whose work ensured the greens were in superb condition and a pleasure to play on for all involved.

The success of the tournament would not have been possible without the support of the many people who contributed behind the scenes.

A big thank you goes to the volunteers and organising committee from both the Bowls and Golf Club who helped deliver another outstanding event.

The club also acknowledges the valued support of event sponsors Hahn Super Dry 3.5 and Central Murray Credit Union, whose contributions helped make the tournament possible.

Finally, thank you to all the bowlers who travelled from far and wide to compete and helped create two days of enjoyable and highly competitive bowls at YMGCR.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back for more great events on the greens in the future. 🎉
