Our ground staff recently completed the fairway bunker upgrades on the Par-4 Lake 17th hole.

Led by Superintendent Chris Burgess, the project took around 3-weeks to complete, with the new designs boasting several enhancements:

• New sand type: Improved playing characteristics for golfers.
• Enhanced drainage: Better handling of course conditions.
• Strategic repositioning: Bunkers are now further back and away from the left tree line, requiring an additional 10 meters of carry off the tee.
• Increased fairway area: Removing the centre pot bunker provides an extra 8m of playable space on the fairway’s right side.

The crew will now focus on the par-5 Lake 18th, where they’ll tackle both fairway and greenside bunkers.
