New Fountains Enhance the Lake Course
Golfers and visitors to Yarra Golf will notice an attractive new feature on the Lake Course, with two fountains recently installed in the Penalty Area between the par-5 13th hole and the green of the par-3 14th.
The fountains have been introduced primarily to improve water quality by increasing circulation and aeration within the Penalty Area. This is expected to help reduce algae growth and may also assist with controlling some of the aquatic weeds that can become an issue over time.
In addition to their practical benefits, the fountains provide an attractive feature across a highly visible and picturesque section of the course. They will also create a welcoming view for visitors as they travel across the railway line towards the Club.
The main fountain includes built-in coloured lighting, adding another visual element during the evening.
The project follows the installation of a solar-powered fountain in the Penalty Area on the Lake Course’s 8th hole, which was also introduced to support improved water quality and course presentation.
These latest improvements form part of the Club’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving the presentation, environment and playing experience across Yarra Golf’s 45 holes.
