Introduction of Clubhouse Credit for 2023/24
With the Club’s Annual Membership period due on June 30, I would like to notify all financial members of important changes to be introduced in the 2023/24 Membership period.
The Clubhouse is an essential element of all sports clubs. Post Covid closures and social distancing measures, we have observed that many Members have lost connection with the clubhouse. Stopping in for a drink or a meal after a day on the fairway or green is no longer part of many Members’ routines.
For this reason, the Board and I feel that a Levy (as suggested by you at a members’ forum) is justified. We intend to proceed with the suggestion and we will name it “Clubhouse Credit”. We aim to encourage more Member visitation to the clubhouse and create a greater connection between the Club and its Members.
The Club is introducing a $125 Clubhouse Credit to all Full, 6 Day, Country, Staff Sports, Bowls and Croquet Members for the 2023/24 season.
The $125 Clubhouse Credit is in addition to your annual subscription payment due on 30th June, 2023.
After payment, the $125 Clubhouse Credit will be added as points to your Membership account on 3rd July, 2023. The points can then be used to purchase food and beverages (outside of happy hour periods) in the clubhouse. The points are not valid for use in the Pro Shop, Drinks Cart, Cinema, Accommodation or on takeaway packaged alcohol or food. There is no limit on how quickly you may use this credit during the membership financial year however, if unused, the points will expire at the end of the annual membership period on 30th June, 2024.
Social Members are exempt from this new initiative with fees for that category unaffected.
YMGCR is also exploring the option of having subscription renewals emailed to all members next year.
