Record Calcutta Night at Yarra Golf
The 2025 Melbourne Cup Calcutta at Yarra Golf on Monday 3 November was another great success, drawing a strong crowd and plenty of interest from members and visitors.
For the first time ever, all 6,000 Calcutta tickets sold out on the night, building a $12,000 prize pool before the auctions even began. The auction that followed, led by auctioneer extraordinaire Ted Shackleton, saw spirited bidding battles between locals and holiday visitors alike.
By the end of the night, the total prize pool had reached $20,360, marking a fantastic result and a reflection of the community’s ongoing support for this annual event.
The clubhouse was full, with more than 600 diners in the Bistro and a lively atmosphere as everyone looked ahead to the race that stops a nation. A big thank you to all front and back of house staff for their efforts in helping deliver a smooth and enjoyable evening.
Congratulations to Our Winners
The night’s prize pool was distributed as follows:
- 1st: $12,216 (Sandy / Tim Syndicate)
- 2nd: $5,090 (Jimmy King)
- 3rd: $2,036 (Maree Clayton)

Congratulations to all ticket holders, lucky drawers, and winners who shared in this year’s Calcutta success.
